Château Frontenac, Quebec, Canada canvas
Now a National Historic Site of Canada, Château Frontenac was built as a hotel in 1893 by the Canadian Pacific Railway. The central fortress-like tower design is derived from medieval châteaux found throughout France's Loire Valley. It's changed hands and been restored many times and is now open as a hotel with 610 guest rooms and suites.
