The snow-clad single track road winds through a serene landscape, with the majestic mountains standing tall in the distance and the clouds painting a dramatic sky. This is the Bealach na Ba ( Pass of the Cattle ) in the depths of Winter. The narrow road traverses from Lochcarron, over a steep and tortuous route to Applecross, and Shieldaig, The Scottish Highlands. Now designated as an exciting though frightening for some, road trip section of the NC500.
