stature of a miner named Jack "Jigger" Taylor , who was killed in a coal mine disaster in 1951 when the roof suddenly collapsed. The coal pit was located in Walsall Wood , Brownhills UK. His own grandson entered a competition to name the statue and won , hence the name Jigger. created in 2006 by artist John Mckenna, a member of the Royal British society of sculptors . The Stature is made of stainless steel and stands over 40 feet high ,and weighs 5 tonnes
