The Remaining Tower at Donnington Castle canvas
The last standing tower of Donnington Castle's gatehouse dominates the landscape, evoking the strength and power of its medieval origins. Constructed in 1386 by Sir Richard Abberbury the Elder, it served as a stronghold and fortress against enemy forces until being destroyed during the Civil War. The castle was later slighted, leaving only the gatehouse as a haunting reminder of its past.
