Persepolis is the 2500 year old ancient capital of what is now Iran near to the city of Shiraz. Much of the ancient site is still preserved and this image is of a section of the King's palace. In the hillside beyond is the tomb of one of the Kings, Artaxerxes II. He ruled over the Achaemenid Empire around 400 BC
