There’s quite a lot going on in the right hand sleeper… the grain of the wood going horizontal but where the end has been sawn there are curved lines dragged across at an angle. There are visible joints (square pins) & the colours are rich, varied and defined by the black of the depth of shadow. So the man-made element is emphasised by the maturing of the timber over time. So much seen along this stretch of Deben riverbank at Kyson Point, Suffolk
