71515 Mech. Navvies Ltd picture board
This steam locomotive is a true marvel of engineering from R. Stephenson & Hawthorn Ltd. Built in 1945, it boasts a 0-6-0ST wheel arrangement, 170psi boiler pressure, and weighs a staggering 48 tons 5 cwt. Originally commissioned by the War Department as WD71515, it was put to work at Swalwell Disposal Point in Durham after WWII ended. Today, it can be seen at the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway, where it continues to awe visitors with its impressive power and beauty.
