St Andrew's Church, Witchford, Cambridgeshire canvas
St Andrew's Church in Witchford was consecrated on 12th December, 1376. The Bishop's 'diary' for that year mentions that he came from his palace at Little Downham 'on the Friday after the Feast of the Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary'. However, Bishops in those days were not always very prompt in carrying out such duties! Pevsner's Guide suggests an early 14th century date.
