The Athabasca glacier is one of the “toes” of the Columbia Icefield and is 6 kms square (2.3 sq miles) and 90–300 metres (300–980 ft) thick. This is seen from the Icefileds Parkway, near Banff NP, Alberta, Canada. This photograph was taken in July so there is far less ice than at other times in the year. Sadly, many glaciers are melting due to climate change.

Silver Frame – Silver brushed finish.
