The Crows Nest picture board
In Whitehaven harbour, on the West coast of Cumbria, England, at the end of Lime Tongue connected by a ramp, is the 40-metre tower called the Crows Nest. This structure has a viewing platform with great views back over the marina towards the town. The buildings on the Old Quay (at the back of the shot) are the Watchtower (built in the 1730’s) and on its left, the Pier Master’s Watch House (built in 1764). The Old Quay, and both buildings, are each English Heritage Grade II Listed structures.
