Herne Bay Pier and Isolated Pierhead acrylic
Herne Bay Pier Stub and Pierhead viewed from the shingle on the beach. The pier was was badly damaged in a storm in 1978 then partly dismantled. The result was this short pier stub disconnected from the landing stage which stands over 3000 feet away. This photograph includes the sports pavilion which was demolished in 2012. The horizon is punctuated by wind turbines forming a windfarm.
