Spawning salmon along Davis Creek near La Pine, Oregon, provided an attraction to this large bald eagle sitting in a pine tree. It was later in the season, so only a few eagles were seen and a local said that numbers seemed to be reduced in this spot in recent years despite good numbers of salmon. There are several various images of this eagle but this was taken when the eagle dived off the branch where it had been perched reminding me of the famous Lord Alfred Tennyson poem.
