The trail to Grinnell Glacier was not an easy one, especially in the rain or carrying camera gear, but it did afford breathtaking views like this one of Grinnell Lake. This was seen on the way down. The lake's opaque turquoise color is from the silt that is carried down from the glacier above it. Mount Gould rises behind the lake.The cloud coverage shifted constantly that day, affecting visibility, light and colors. Another version is available in black and white.
