The Red Dragon canvas
Rood Ashton Hall pulling the Red Dragon special through Gloucestershire en route to Cardiff. This Locomotive was built at the GWR Swindon Works in 1929 and now preserved at the Birmingham Railway Museum. The museum bought it from a scrap yard as number 4983 Albert Hall and then found it was the wrong one! An investigation revealed that Albert Hall was scrapped by British Railways in 1962 and its identity, including name and number plates, switched to Rood Ashton Hall, which was in for repair.
