Hopgoods attack run canvas
After Guy Gibsons attack on the Mohne Dam, John "Hoppy" Hopgood made his run in P Popsie, Hoppys Lancaster bomber came under an intense barrage of 20mm cannon fire from the Dams defences and took a hit in the port engines and fuel cell, the bomber crashed shortly after, three baled out two of which survived to become POWs but the bomber went down with the remaining crew on board who could not bale out in time.
