Fighting Colours By 1918 most air units had abandoned any pretence at using camouflage colour schemes and a riot of individual bright personal decorative paint liveries had appeared. Units flaunted their individual and squadron identity with bright assertive painting - as in the clash between the US ’Hat in the Ring’ Nieuport and the Albatross DV.
