Magnus the Largs Viking canvas
The 16 feet tall steel statue of Magnus the Viking, which stands on the promenade of Largs North Ayrshire on the River Clyde, was erected in 2013 to commemorate the 750th anniversary of the the Battle of Largs in 1263 when the Scots defeated the Viking army, which led to Scotland regaining control of Kintyre and the Western Isles. The sculpture is oversized and is a slightly comical take on a Viking.
